Start Here
This is a small selection of twenty photos from the other galleries. It is a good start if you don't care to browse through the rest of the galleries. |

Morning Fun
In 2007, instead of running, I shot the encierros in Pamplona from the sides. As there are plenty of sharp images of people running with the bulls, I set my shutter speed to 1/15-1/20 to get some of the motion. |

Summer in Spain
For the third time, I spent a couple of summer weeks driving around the north of Spain. |
|
Death in the afternoon
In July 2004 I went to a bullfight for the first time. The ritualistic killing of a bull is traditional, cruel, barbaric and sometimes, only sometimes, beautiful. I took these pictures with my little two megapixel digital camera. They are very low resolution, processed to emphasize shape and color. |

Some Morning Fun
I was in Pamplona for San Fermin in 2002 and 2003. These are pictures of the play with vaquillas that happens after each encierro, taken with disposable cameras (in 2002) and with a little Minolta digital camera (in 2003.) |
|
Petanca
In July 2002, I spent three weeks in Spain. Driving around Castille, I stopped in a small town called Madrigal de las Altas Torres. In the main square, I met this group of men playing petanca. They invited me to play one game, which I managed to lose for my team. |

Anti-war demonstrations in 2002 and 2003 |
|
Driving East
I spent the last two weeks of 2002 driving from San Francisco to Chicago and back. I took this pictures with a small two megapixel digital camera. The halftone screen effect is done by filtering and offseting each channel in CMYK space. |

Pictures during my commute
I set a camera looking out of the passenger or the rear window of my car, and shot with a cable release. |

El Camino Real
On and off, I've been working on a series on El Camino Real between Palo Alto and Mountain View. |

The Right Margin
This is my little ongoing series of the right margin of the Seine in Paris. I took the first picture in 1998. During my next trip to Paris, in 2000, I decided to make it a series. The last few images are from May 2001. |
